You can stop looking for the perfect dessert now.
Seriously, just stop.
We have found it…and ya’ll, we have never had something more amazing than this!
Now, are you ready for us to really blow your mind?!
These amazing Whoopsie Pies by Lisa Mae Cakes bakery out of Byron, Georgia are gluten-free. Yes, gluten free! Lisa Mae Cakes first got her start developing a gluten-free dessert line after her father-in-law developed Celiac Disease and they were yet to discover a dessert that was yummy and not tasteless. Lisa has perfected the art of a super flavorful gluten-free dessert and if she had never told us they were gluten-free, we would have never known. Because yes ya’ll, we are not afraid to admit that we had the pleasure of sampling each and every flavor that we photographed and of course, being the amazing and generous friend that she is, she packed us both a (big) goody box to bring home to continue eating on and to share with our families!
The name Whoopsie Pie came about after she noticed they sort of looked like the ugly cousin to the traditional Whoopie Pie, which are fluffy little cakes with a buttercream filling. These Whoopsie Pies are a dense texture with perfect little crackly powdered-sugar-dusted tops. They also don’t have a super sweet filling–it’s “just the right sweetness” in a silky buttercream. These images below do not do these things justice! They are absolutely delicious served chilled from the fridge with a hot cup of coffee or cold glass of milk.
You can find Lisa’s Whoopsie Pies at Yvonne’s Natural Market or Village Market Place in Macon and they will be coming to Atlanta soon. You can also call her bakery and place an order…we’ve already determined that this is what we will both be doing this year instead of a traditional birthday cake! And don’t ask us our favorite flavor, because we love them all! They’re THAT good!
