If you’re from Georgia, you know that there is just something exciting about a Saturday in Athens! Will and Katie’s classic summer wedding at The UGA Chapel and The Foundry at The Graduate Hotel was more than just exciting, it was epic!! Katie and Will had been dating for years, so when Will popped the question, it was no surprise to their family and friends! It was meant to be! They are a laid-back, super fun couple who love craft beer, concerts and UGA football, so there was no question that Athens was THE perfect choice for their big day!
As soon as we arrived, we could already tell that this day was going to be one big party! The Bridesmaids were dressed in monogrammed matching robes and the room was full of confetti, champagne, and even a karaoke dance party featuring the most adorable flower girl ever! The Graduate Hotel offers an amazing bridal room for preparation complete with arcade games, plenty of space for preparation, signature chalkboard walls and funky decor! We loved that Katie and her mom took some time to themselves to get Katie in her dress. You can tell these two have a special bond and it was such a sweet time for them both! While they were getting ready, Katie surprised Will by gifting him a UGA football helmet personally signed by Kirby Smart himself! He loved it and couldn’t stop smiling!! A few months earlier at their engagement session, Katie told us she was most excited about her first look with Will. They had been planning and preparing for this day for so long, so she knew it was going to be an emotional and memorable time for the two of them, and it certainly was! The University of Georgia has such a beautiful campus and it was the perfect backdrop for their portraits together! And of course no wedding at UGA would be complete without a stop at the iconic arches and the traditional ringing of the chapel bell! The bridal party kept us laughing the whole time during their portraits and it was evident that these guys were more like family than just friends. The Ceremony was held at The UGA Chapel on North Campus full of Katie and Will’s family and friends. From there, guests headed over to The Foundry at The Graduate Hotel and were treated to a delicious array of food and drinks! Entertainment for the night was provided by the Mo’ Soul Band. They were an absolute blast and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long! The reception felt like the biggest party in Athens that night–custom sunglasses, signature drinks, an interactive band and LED foam sticks! Will and Katie ended their evening with a sparkler exit and made their getaway in a gorgeous vintage car!
Katie and Will, we wish you both a lifetime full of happiness and adventure! We hope your lives together will forever be as much of a celebration as your wedding day was! Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your special day! We love you both!

Just as UGA rings the Chapel Bell to celebrate a victory win on Saturday’s in Athens, it is customary to ring the bell together after ceremony to celebrate and for all of North Campus to hear!
