After recently experiencing our first snowfall (okay, who are we kidding, it was just a little snow-dusting) here in Middle Georgia for the winter season, and probably the only one we will receive this year, it has us in the mood to talk all about winter wedding trends for 2018!
Down here in the South, we are a huge fan of winter weddings! It is such a nice break from the heat and humidity that the South is known for. The crisp, cool air combined with the stark contrast of rich jewel tones and earthy organic vibes, is enough to make anybody feel warm and cozy. If you are a fan of a chill in the air, a lover of warm blankets and fuzzy socks, snuggles, hot coca, cozy sweaters, bonfires and your favorite color is Winter…a winter wedding is the perfect season for you! We have included some of our favorites from our friends over at The Black Tux to bring you the latest winter wedding color trends.
Ladies, and especially the gentleman, listen up! Choosing the right colors, especially for your wedding wear, will help set the tone and theme of your winter wedding. So often, we see the bride, bridesmaids and their dresses as the star of the show, but who says the guys can’t steal some of the glory? Cue this wonderful concept for our grooms and groomsmen, The Black Tux! The Black Tux is the new way to rent your suits and tuxedos guys! Long gone are the days of ill-fitting, oversized or undersized worn out wedding wear from a franchise retail store that will require multiple trips for sizing, pickup and delivery. GQ got it right when they said “The Black Tux has come to rescue guys from tux-rental hell.” The Black Tux offers high-end suits and tuxedos, rented online and delivered to your door. Take a look below to see how these suits and tuxedos tie into the overall color scheme of a winter wedding.
This wedding color palette oozes sophistication, charm and elegance. Olive pairs well with natural environmental florals and represents an earthy and botanical element. You can never go wrong with an elegant black tux providing a classic and timeless look to your wedding theme. This color palette would look stunning in a space such as an outdoor garden, mountainscape or an industrial structure to bring natural design elements inside!
The rich, deep colors of winter are surely depicted here. This is probably our favorite color inspiration board and we have already seen this trend happening right now. The warm colors of Marsala and Navy dispense a feeling of calm with a lively touch. There are so many ways to embody these colors into your wedding tone and theme that could easily be incorporated into other elements such as tablescapes, florals and your wedding cake. These colors are perfect for a cozy celebration in a mountain winery, a rustic barn setting or a backdrop of wooded trees.
Plum and Grey are definitely on the rise in the wedding world. Although the cool toned palette would look stunning in any season, these colors have us dreaming of a chic and modern winter wedding! Plum is going to show up more this year in weddings due to a sister color of Plum, Ultraviolet, being named Pantone color of the year for 2018. Plum and Grey paired together encompass an ethereal and refined whimsical winter atmosphere. This luxurious color palette is light and regal and would be well represented in an elegant ballroom, historic mansion or a modern structure with lots of white space.
We are so excited to see these color trends already popping up all over this winter wedding season! Be sure to follow along on our blog and Instagram to see these current color combinations make their debut!
