On your wedding day, your images and film are the record of the laughs, tears, hugs, and special moments that are bound to take place throughout your BIG day. Both photographers and videographers offer a different type of documentation of your wedding day, but both are equally valuable. We want our couples to know how much a great videographer can add to a couple’s wedding day and we found that in Clawson Media.
We recently had the pleasure of working alongside Scott and Sarah Clawson for Amanda & Matthew’s Wedding and let us just tell you, they freakin’ rock. Scott and Sarah are a husband and wife videographer team that recently moved to the Atlanta area from New Orleans and produce some pretty mind-blowing wedding films. From their professional working relationships with both the wedding clients and hired wedding vendors to the end result wedding film that left us with our mouth on the floor and then needing tissues to wipe away the tears, we can’t recommend them enough! They are truly a treasure to have as a tangible memory from your wedding day!
Check out a couple of their wedding films below! They are ri-dic-u-lous-ly amazing, ya’ll!
How did you two decide to go into the business of videography together?
Scott studied videography in college, but we never dreamed we would start a business of our own. After having my cousin create a cinematic wedding film for our wedding in 2011, we were hooked. Every time I watched our wedding film, I cried my eyes out and couldn’t believe how incredible the quality was. That sparked a passion in both of our lives to start a business which would allow us to capture this joy for others.
What is it like working with your spouse?
Working together has been one of the biggest blessings and challenges we’ve ever experienced in our lives. Our first few weddings were quite tense, but these days it’s truly a blast. We rely on each other in ways I never thought possible and we continue to hold each other up through the challenges of entrepreneurship.
How long have you been in business?
We officially began Clawson Media in 2012 which marked 4 years last month.

What advice to you have for a couple when choosing a videographer for their wedding day?
First off–make videography a must when planning your wedding budget! 98% of brides who do not hire a videographer regret that decision. When everything is over, your photos and video are all you have left to relive the day. Being able to see and hear those magical moments for a lifetime is a decision you will never regret. Once you’ve made the decision to hire a videographer, be sure to choose someone whose style most matches what you love. Cinematic wedding films are first creative and artistic–the days of setting up a camera on a tripod and simply pushing record are long over. Videographers can be vastly different in how they capture the day so you want to ensure that you view several styles and pick the one you are most comfortable with.
What is your favorite part of the day to capture?
The first look and/or the first dance as husband and wife. Weddings are stressful and in even in the most calming situations, brides and grooms are always one their toes until they can see one another face to face. We love capturing the first look because of the overwhelming and natural emotion each person displays. We also love the first dance because once the reception has started, the bride and groom are finally able to relax and their true personality as a couple begins to glow.
What do you guys do for fun that has nothing to do with videography?
As boring as this may sound, we LOVE to sit at home and watch HGTV. All those late nights watching House Hunters and DIY shows finally paid off because we recently bought and renovated our first home. It was so much fun knowing what we wanted to do and what styles we love. We also have a strong passion for urban ministry and live in downtown Atlanta. It is our hope to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those living around us in this challenging yet vibrant and exciting area.
We look forward to working alongside them again in the upcoming wedding seasons!
